Julian Arthur, who was wanted by the police in relation to attempted mur-der committed on Devlin Garraw-ay on July 1st, 2020, at Union Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, has since been arrested by police, Commander of Region Five, Yonette Stephens confirmed yesterday.
According to Commander Stephens, legal advice was expected to be sought yesterday in an effort to file charges against Arthur, 30.
Garraway, 28, was rushed from her house in Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, to the Fort Wellington Hospital just around 9.30 am on July, 1. She was then subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where she was admitted in a serious condition.
Her father, Leon Robertson, of Hope-town Village, West Coast Berbice, had said Garraway, a mother of three, sustained a shot to her face.
Yesterday Robertson when contacted said that his daughter has since been discharged from the hospital. He said on Wednesday Garraway provided police with a detailed statement as it relates to the incident.
Garraway reportedly shared a relation-ship with the alleged suspect. However, she had decided to end the relationship with him since he was abusive.
On July, 1, Arthur reportedly visited Garraway after which a fight ensued and he allegedly shot the woman once to her face then fled the scene.
Robertson had previously said, that she had confided in him several times in the past that the suspect was abusive to her.
The father noted, that in the past after assaulting his daughter the suspect would stay away from the family for some time and then return.
