The 14-year-old Corentyne lad who was reported missing by his father after he left home with an older friend was on Sunday found at a house in Bloomfield Village, Corentyne.
Kevin Mangar, also known as ‘Tubby,’ of Lot 38 Clifton Settlement, Corentyne, was last seen leaving home on Saturday, July 11, around 11 pm with an older friend, 17.
His father, Maheshwar Mangar, 55, yesterday confirmed, that after Stabroek News reported on the lad being missing, a resident came forward and informed him that his son was seen in Bloomfield Village, Corentyne.
After investigating this information, Mangar found his young son at a house in the said village.
The couple residing at the house was contacted by police for questioning.
Mangar yesterday noted, that he was happy that he had located his son. “He say he go away with some friend”, the man relayed. Mangar, a mechanic, had initially told this newspaper that he had already retired to bed when he heard his son talking to someone the night he disappeared. “He friend jump the fence and come in and them two went on the step talking,” the father had said.
According to the man, he called on his son but “them two run out the yard.”
Mangar the next morning launched a searched for his young son and had filed a police report at the Whim Police Station.
Yesterday a worried Mangar noted, that he was not certain as to what may have caused his son to go away, “He na really tell me”.
