Guyana’s quest to attend the Junior Pan America hockey championship in 2020 has been delayed for at least a few months after the Pan American body recently announced that the tournament will now be hosted in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The Junior Continental Championships, which act as the qualification competition for the 2021 Junior World Cup at the end of 2021, were originally due to be completed in 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this has not been possible in all continents, with the exception of Europe,” the body said in a statement on its website.
The website revealed that the tournament is now expected to run from April 12-25, 2021 in Santiago, Chile.
