A post-mortem examination has confirmed that Vickram Budhram, the construction worker who was struck down on Sunday at Mon Repos, died due to multiple injuries consistent with that of a vehicular accident.
Budhram, 46, of Lot 24 First Street, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, was on his way home when the he was struck.
Nehru Budhram, a brother of the deceased, told Stabroek News his brother was a father of three, cool and hardworking.
Stabroek News previously reported that Budhram died on the spot after being struck down by a speeding car. He was said to be crossing the highway when he was struck by a car, PPP 5422 driven by a 25 year-old mechanic.
Assistant Police Commander for Region 4 (C), Royston Andries-Junor, stated that the driver involved in the accident remains in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
Andries-Junor previously noted that the driver has claimed that Budhram walked into the path of the car.
