Two men were charged with larceny for allegedly breaking into two vehicles and stealing a total of $55,000.
Christopher Hoyte, of Fyzabad and Sea Lots, was remanded into custody while co-accused Sherwin Alexander of Sea Lots was granted $180,000 bail.
They appeared via video conference before San Fernando Magistrate Kerianne Byer but they were not asked to plead to the charges. In the first charge, it is alleged that they followed the victim Bobby Ramharack from the bank on February 5.
When he parked his Nissan Teanna at San City Drive, Gulf View, La Romaine, it is alleged that they smashed the front passenger window broken and stole an envelope containing $40,000.
In the other incident on July 9, Alvin Mohammed parked his Hyundai Tucson on the compound of Soongs Great Wall in San Fernando and left. He returned less than 30 minutes later and found the left front window smashed and $15,000 missing.
The police conducted inquires and the men were subsequently arrested. Hoyte had a pending matter from 2019 for larceny. He was denied bail and advised him of his right to apply to judge for bail.
Alexander was granted bail with magistracy registrar approval but on the condition that he reports to the Besson Street Police Station three times a week.
The matter will next be heard on August 21.
