A Linden family of seven lost their home in a fire that occurred on Saturday.
Kevon Lorrimer, 38, of Richmond Hill, Linden, in a telephone interview with Stabroek News, said he was in Georgetown when he received a text message from his boss, who requested that he call immediately.
It was on the call that Lorrimer was informed that his house was on fire.
He explained that he then made his way back to Linden, where he found the burnt remains of his home.
The fire occurred just around 2:20 pm. By the time Lorrimer arrived, officials had already left the scene.
A vocal supporter of the APNU+AFC coalition, Lorrimer said he received several threats recently.
Commander of Region 10 Hugh Winter told this newspaper that an investigation into what occurred is still ongoing.
