PPP General Secretary, Bharrat Jagdeo, recently sworn in as Vice President expressed yesterday gratitude to the supporters of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) for their backing over the past months leading up to the party’s victory and said that the country is now faced with the “uphill” task of rebuilding.
“I am immensely grateful to the loyal supporters of the People’s Progressive Party and to the dedicated corps of volunteers, particularly the scores of youths, as well as a committed team of candidates and leaders, who have all, generously, given of their time and effort during the past several months, more so over the past five years – all of which led to a PPP/C victory at the March 2020 Elections,” Jagdeo yesterday said in a post made on his Facebook page.
He said the hardest task which the country is currently faced with is rebuilding while noting that he is “deeply” moved by the confidence expressed by President Dr Irfaan Ali.
