Health and Education teams meet on reopening of schools: Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony and a technical team met with Minister of Education Priya Manikchand and other senior officials within the Education Ministry yesterday to discuss the safety of students and eventual reopening of schools. A statement from the Education Ministry said that an announcement would be made soon, while reminding that the best interest of the child is always of paramount importance for the government. The teams included former Minister of Health Dr Leslie Ramsammy, Chief Medical Officer Dr Shamdeo Persaud, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Karen Boyle, Assistant Chief Education Officer Samantha Williams and Chief Planning Officer within the Ministry of Education Nicola Johnson.
