The police are probing the murder of a homeless man, whose body was discovered with multiple stab wounds yesterday morning at D’Urban Park, in Georgetown.
The dead man has been identified as 51-year-old Clint Gravesande.
According to a Guyana Police Force statement, Gravesande’s body was found lying motionless around 6am yesterday. There were several stab wounds observed about his body, including to his neck, the police said.
Gravesande was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he was pronounced dead. His body is currently at the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Stabroek News was told that Gravesande, who has no fixed place of abode, would usually occupy Stand Five, which is situated on the southern side of D’Urban Park.
