Twenty-eight new cases of COVID-19 recorded

The cases of COVID-19 in Guyana continue to rise with 28 new infections being recorded yesterday.

The Ministry of Health announced the increase in COVID-19 cases through its COVID-19 dashboard. The total number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 737. Of the new cases recorded, 4 were recorded in Region Three, 12 in Region Four, one in Region Seven and 10 in Region Nine.

Coronavirus cases are surging again in Region Four as 46 new cases have been recorded in the region since last Thursday.

During the last testing cycle 172 more persons were tested for the virus, increasing the total number of persons tested to 6,173. There are 61 persons within institutional isolation while 282 persons are in approved home isolation. However, 76 persons are currently in institutional quarantine while 15 more persons have recovered from the virus increasing the total number of recoveries to 364.
