A 13-year-old was on Friday evening caught while attempting to break into a New Amsterdam businessman’s car.
Nezam Alli, 44, owner of Nezam’s Grocery and General Store, located at Republic Road and King Street, New Amsterdam, told Sunday Stabroek, that his neighbour spotted the lad.
At around 10.27 pm, the neighbour noticed the youth at the side of Alli’s car, and upon investigating he discovered the lad attempting to break into the vehicle.
Alli was immediately informed and the police were then summoned.
Meanwhile, the businessman yesterday stressed, that after the young lad was found he was placed to sit on the parapet with his bag of tools until the police arrived.
