Thirty new coronavirus cases have been confirmed as of yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) COVID Dashboard bringing the number of confirmed cases in Guyana to 955. There are now 434 active cases countrywide.
The new cases were found in seven regions with Region One recording five new cases, Region Two (3 new cases), Region Three (3 new cases), Region Four (7 new cases), Region Seven (8 new cases), Region Nine (1 new case), and Region Ten (3 new cases).
Two more persons have been admitted to the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) which now makes a total of thirteen persons confirmed as patients in the ICU.
Two hundred and seventeen cases were recorded for last week alone while eight persons were reported to have died. The Ministry of Health has stepped up testing.
