Dear Editor,
We, the undersigned, are outraged by the blatant attempt to disparage the character and reputation of Guyoil CEO, Ms. Renatha Exeter, in what can only be described as unadulterated filth emanating from a depraved misogynistic mind. It is a fabrication, with absolutely no validity.
Ms. Exeter is an accomplished, educated individual who has worked in managerial and executive positions with GTT, ANSA McAL and Guyoil. As most women know and have experienced in corporate Guyana, you have to work twice as hard for less reward and often be subjected to sexist remarks. But the attack on Ms. Exeter was beyond the pale.
We hope that the perpetrator(s) is/are found and suffer the maximum brunt of the law, but we also want to take issue with those who chose to circulate this garbage without any fact check, knowledge of the person defamed or any sense of decency. That some women chose to share and add their own interpretation to the salaciousness, is a reflection of how debased we have become as a society.
The woman you have disparaged is a daughter and has a daughter. When next you think about sharing a demeaning post with scant regard for its veracity, think about how you would feel if it was your mother, your sister or your daughter who was the target.
Yours faithfully,
