The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) yesterday managed to contain a small fire of unknown origin at Banks DIH Limited, Thirst Park, Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Stabroek News understands that the fire started around 9.30am in the company’s rum bond. The GFS was alerted and their quick response led to the fire being put out.
Contacted yesterday, Communications Manager of Banks DIH Limited Troy Peters told Stabroek News that he was unable to confirm the fire. When Stabroek News arrived at the scene, workers were tightlipped.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
