Eight prominent Guyanese sport officials have been penciled in to participate in an online athlete development programme intended to bolster the long term development of sports here.
This revelation was made by the Guyana Olympic Association which said it has received an invitation from the PanAm Sports to participate in a Webinar on the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
PanAm Sports has reached an agreement with Sport for Life of Canada to share knowledge and programmes with all the NOC’s through their new webinar educational series on Zoom and the PanAm Sports Channel.
The presentations on the LTAD model will be over an eight week period with two hours every week on Wednesdays starting from September 2.
Those identified from Guyana are David Fernandes who is the President of the Guyana Squash Association, Terrence Poole (Boxing), Shavin Green (Table Tennis), Shyka Gonsalves (Swimming), Roger Peroune (Karate), Kenisha Headley (Athletics), Theodore Henry (Rugby) and Nicholas Fraser (Allied Arts).
