As of 8 am on August 30, 2020, Guyana registered 37 COVID-19 related deaths. The Ministry of Health (MOH) today said that the patient was a 78-year-old woman from Region 9.
This afternoon, the ministry that as of 13:00hrs today, one other person who tested positive has died. The patient was a 53-year-old woman from Region 4. This moves the death toll to 38.
The MOH says it is in contact with all relatives and other contacts to facilitate contact tracing and rapid assistance to everyone who may have been exposed.
