National left-handed duo of Trevon `Bugsy’ Griffith and Assad Fudadin were among the top run-getters in the recently concluded Big 3 T20 tournament which was contested in the United States of America.
Both cricketers, who had stints with Guyana and Jamaica at the regional first-class level, turned out for Black Panther which lost in the semifinal to the eventual winners Bangladesh Tigers of USA. Tigers defeated Freedom CC in the grand finale.
Griffith ended the tournament fifth on the batting run chart with 162 runs from five outings at an average of 40.50 and a strike rate of nearly 180. He scored one half-century and ended as his side’s leading run-scorer. Griffith also had nine wickets to cap off a fine all-round outing.
Meanwhile, his countryman, Fudadin, finished seventh on the run chart after amassing 146 runs, inclusive of two half-centuries. He averaged 48 and his runs came at a clip of 110.
Steven Taylor (127 runs) and Xavier Marshall (88) runs were some of the other high-profile players to grace the tournament.
