(Trinidad Guardian) Less than a month after campaigning for a seat in Parliament in the August 10 General Election, former National Security Minister Jack Warner was last night warded at hospital with COVID-19. The 77-year-old Warner, a former FIFA vice-president is said to have been tested positive after visiting the Westshore hospital in Cocorite earlier this week for other complications.
He had complained of feeling drained and doctors tested him for cardiac issues.
However, he was discharged after being attended to.
His tests result, however, came back positive for COVID-19 around the same time that Warner started feeling his health deteriorating.
He was subsequently rushed to hospital according to COVID protocols.
Rumours that Warner had died were dispelled by those close to him on Wednesday. The exact state of his health was not immediately available.
Warner unsuccessfully contested the Lopinot Bon Air seat in the election.
