The Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), taking the country’s death toll to 46.
The latest fatalities are an 82 -year-old woman from Region Four, who the ministry said died while receiving care, and a 47-year-old woman from Region One.
The ministry noted that samples were collected from both at the time of admission and were tested positive for COVID-19.
It also said officials have started contact tracing and rapid assistance to everyone who may have been exposed to the now-dead persons.
The ministry reminded citizens to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 Emergency Measures now in effect until September 30, 2020. It highlighted the need for:
- correct and consistent use of a face masks when leaving their homes;
- maintaining the six feet physical distance from others;
- good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19;
