The Lusignan Golf Club has condemned the brutal murder of two teenagers in Berbice.
In a strongly worded statement, the LGC came out swinging against the perpetrators of the gruesome act and are calling on the authorities to deliver justice.
“We the Executive Committee, Members, Staff, and friends of Lusignan Golf Club, do condemn in the strongest terms, the cruel and untimely deaths meted out to two of our fellow Guyanese Joel and Isaiah Henry,” the club said yesterday.
The Gulf Club, which is one of the first sporting bodies to pronounce on the gruesome killings, further noted: “We strongly demand that justice prevails and that the perpetrators be swiftly dealt with within the confines of the law.
“For a bright and promising future for Guyana, there must be zero tolerance for any acts that contribute to the destruction of our people in any form or fashion and so we expect that these dastardly acts will be condemned in the strongest terms by all sectors of society.”
The battered and mutilated bodies of Isaiah and Joel Henry were discovered on Sunday afternoon in Cotton Tree Village, West Coast Berbice.
Their remains bore several gruesome wounds and the Police have since arrested three persons including a 57-year-old farmer from Cotton Tree. The killings have attracted condemnation by both the Government and the Opposition and has resulted in a major protest on the West Coast of Berbice.
