Guyana’s Priyanna Ramdhani was yesterday defeated in the semi-final of the Pan Am Home Cup online Badminton tournament by Canadian Brittany Tam 2-3.
The Guyanese earlier in the tournament defeated Tamisha Williams of Barbados 3-1 in their quarterfinal matchup in her first competitive exchange since the COVID – 19 pandemic.
According to Pan Am, the online tournament, perhaps the first of its kind, was organised due to the forced hiatus of sports owing to the ongoing global pandemic.
The tournament is centered on players completing different challenges for points.
Ramdhani, in an earlier interview with Stabroek Sport, shared her thoughts on the format and noted that she relished the experience and was excited to be back in competitive action.
