A collaborative effort between the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) and the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) will now allow for COVID-19+ mothers, who recently gave birth, to be able to see their newborns through technology.
This is according to a press release from GTT which said that with the ongoing pandemic, COVID+ mothers who recently delivered at the institution were unable to bond with their babies due to the risks associated with contact.
“With the provision of these SIMs, we have created the opportunity for mothers to be able to at least see their newborns,” the release quoted GTT’s public relations manager, Jasmin Harris as saying.
