An electrician employed with Guyana Publications Inc was on Wednesday morning robbed at gunpoint at Plum Park, Sophia.
The 31-year-old man, who did not want to be named, said he stopped in the area to run an errand when the attack occurred.
The man said he was seated on his motorcycle when he was approached by one of the robbers who held him at gunpoint while ordering that he leave the keys to the bike in the ignition and get off.
The electrician said he was further told not to resist as the robber placed his hand into the man’s pocket and took his cellular phone.
Not certain where the suspect’s accomplice came from, the man said he was also relieved of his haversack and told to walk away. They then rode off with his motorcycle.
He told this newspaper that he estimated his loss to be approximately $760,000.
A report was made to the Prashad Nagar Police Outpost.
