A Ministry of Amerindian Affairs employee and a businesswoman are currently nursing injuries in the Linden Hospital after the pick-up in which they were in was involved in an accident along the Rockstone Trail.
Injured are Alwyn John, 56, and Olinda Soloman, 32, a businesswoman of Mahdia.
Police spokesman Assistant Commis-sioner Royston Andries-Junor confirmed that a police investigation is ongoing into the incident which occured around 5pm on Wednesday.
At the time, he said John was the driver of the pick-up while Soloman was the lone occupant.
Enquiries, the police said revealed that the pick-up was proceeding east along the northern side of the trail when John allegedly lost control while negotiating a turn.
As a result, the vehicle toppled several times before coming to a halt.
John and Soloman were picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital where they were both admitted.
Soloman sustained minor injuries while John suffered a laceration about his body including his head.
Efforts are being made to transfer John to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention.
