Clifton taxi driver dies after complaining of pain in arm

A 25-year-old Clifton Settlement, Corentyne taxi driver died at the Port Mourant Hospital during the wee hours of Saturday after com-plaining of experiencing severe pain in his left arm. 

The relatives of the young man, Parmanand Drejodhan, also known as “Randy”, 25, of Lot 256, Clifton Settlement, Corentyne, are at a loss as to what could have caused the sudden death.

His father, Hookumchand Drejodhan, 49, said, that they are hoping that the autopsy can be done at the earliest so as to provide clarity as to what led to death of his young son. 

According to the man, Parmanand worked on Friday afternoon and then returned home where after relaxing for some time he decided to head over to his cousin who was celebrating his birthday. “He went by he aunty son them and he had about three shot them tell me”. 

The man returned home just around midnight on Friday, showered and went to bed. 

The father said Parmanand woke up around 2 am and started to complain of a severe pain in his left arm. “He come let he mommy rub am but he say the pain a increase so we decide to carry he hospital”. 

Parmanand arrived at the health facility just around 2.30 am, his father said. “Them run tests, one heart test too and them say how he heart na beat and then he just dead”. 

According to the distraught father, relatives were informed around 3.20 am that the  man had passed away. 

“Them doctor tell we how they don’t know and them got to wait on an autopsy before them can tell we how he dead. So we hoping them do the autopsy tomorrow (today) so we can know”, the father noted. 

The man said that the family is baffled since Parmanand never suffered from any illnesses, “he never complain of any pain before. He was a healthy person”, the father stressed. 

The young man leaves his wife, parents and other relatives and friends to mourn.
