Long-serving national cricket administrator Bisoondial Singh has expressed eagerness to see the cricket impasse in Guyana   come to an end following the revelation that the Cricket Administration Act has been restored, paving the way for the completion of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) elections.

Stabroek Sport recently reported that the Court of Appeal had discharged the order which had suspended certain parts of the Act paving the way for elections of the Guyana Cricket and Demerara Cricket Boards.

“I’m beyond happy that this situation is coming to an end,” Singh the President of the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) told this publication.

In further expressing relief he added: “This has been going on for over 10 years and we have not had a proper DCB election in a long time.”

He noted that following the elections, his team, which includes, Hilbert Foster, Roger Harper, Claude Raphael and others, will sit down with the media to detail the events of the last 10 years.

“If there were no legitimate DCB elections and the Berbice Cricket Board (BDC) did not attend any elections since 2009, then how can we have a legitimate Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)?” Singh questioned.

Singh, who is a former Vice President of GCB and former President of DCB, commended the courts, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr, and the sitting Attorney General Anil Nandlall for their proactive and aggressive approach in resolving the matter.
