TSU constable robbed of motorcycle

A 26-year-old police constable stationed at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU), Eve Leary was on Tuesday night held at gunpoint and robbed of his XR motorcycle.

Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor confirmed the robbery which transpired around 7pm. At the time, Constable Prince Bagot was in front his father’s David Rose Street, Bagotville, West Bank Demerara (WCD) residence.

The two bandits, one of whom was armed with a handgun escaped on Constable Bagot’s motorcycle bearing registration number, CK 2202 valued $435,000. They remain on the run.

Enquiries, the police said revealed that the rank was on his motorcycle which was stationary at the time when the two suspects approached him from behind and held him at gunpoint.

The bandits ordered Constable Bagot not to move and to remain quiet, the police added.

They then relieved him of his motorcycle and made good their escape.

The matter was reported to the police and an investigation is ongoing.
