Guyana’s COVID-19 case count yesterday increased to 3,188 as 95 new cases of the virus were recorded.
This was revealed in the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which showed that 95 cases were recorded following the last round of testing. According to the dashboard, 263 persons were tested during the last cycle and as such, 15,078 persons have been tested for the virus in the country so far.
The new cases were recorded in nine of the ten administrative Regions. Some 12 new cases were recorded in Region One, four in Region Two, six in Region Three while 37 new cases were recorded in Region Four which increased the total number of cases recorded in Region Four to 1,492. The dashboard showed that one case was recorded in Region Six, 11 in Region Seven, three in Region Eight, seven in Region Nine and 14 in Region Ten.
There are 1,112 active cases in the country of whom 975 are in home isolation while 137 are in institutional isolation. Fourteen persons are currently in the hospital’s COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit even as some 46 persons are in institutional quarantine.
Fifty-two more recoveries were recorded which increased the total number to 1,972.
