Guyanese left-handed of duo Trevon Griffith and Chanderpaul Hemraj were the highlights of the weekend on the USA T20 circuit after recording stellar performances.
Griffith, in his final knock of the season, carved out a century in Cricket League of New Jersey (T20) to guide New Jersey Blackcaps to a commanding 167-run win over Westfield Blues Cricket Club.
Blackcaps, after taking the first strike, romped to 281-3 from their allotted overs on the back of Griffith’s 53-ball 117. His knock was laced with 13 sixes and five fours.
Harsh Ramani (1-63) and Vimal Verma (1-63) went the distance for Westfield Blues Cricket Club who were limited 114-8 from their allotted overs. No one made a significant score as Chintan Patel (2-12) ended as the chief wicket-taker for the eventual winners.
Meanwhile, action in the USA minor league cricket tournament, Amazon Warrior Hemraj swatted six sixes in an over during his 28-ball 67 to guide New Jersey Somerset Cavaliers past The Philadelphians by 18 runs. Hemraj’s man of the match knock included 10 sixes in all; he returned to take 1-17 to cap off an excellent outing.
