Chairman of the People’s National Con-gress Reform (PNCR), Volda Lawrence, was yesterday faced with two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud.
After she was arrested and placed on $100,000 station bail by the Criminal Investigation Department on Tuesday, Lawrence was arraigned before a Magis-trate at the Georgetown Magistrates’ courts.
She was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud at the March 2nd regional and general elections and was placed on $50,000 bail.
Police Prosecutor Tariq Mohammed did not object to Lawrence being granted bail but requested that bail be set at a substantial amount. Lawrence is expected to return to court on December 9 when the outstanding statement will be presented to the court.
Lawrence is also facing private criminal charges in relation to the elections.
