To support online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) yesterday said that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to zero rate several educational websites on behalf of students and children in Guyana.
GTT said in a release that by zero-rating the websites, those visiting them would be able to browse – and learn – without an internet data plan. Among the zero-rated websites are Education: profuturo.education, essentialschools.org, code.org, wikipedia.org, educationgy.org, guyanalearningchannel.com and Weather: (entire site) hydromet.gov.gy
