(Trinidad Express) Homicide detectives have been given instructions to lay a charge of murder against a 41-year-old Fyzabad man for the kill-ing of Santa Flora mother Tineil Shanice Cupid.
Detectives received instructions from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions late Thursday afternoon, and the suspect was expected to appear virtually before a Siparia magistrate yesterday.
Cupid, a mother of two, was stabbed multiple times to the neck and head, and her body discovered near a WASA station near Well Eight, Syncline Road, Santa Flora, on October 13.
Cupid ended an intimate relationship with a man three weeks ago and returned to her mother’s home at Easy Street, Fyzabad.
However, the night before she was found dead, she was seen speaking to her former lover.
Police said the suspect is a father of nine, and he is well-known to them as there are several outstanding warrants for his arrest for his non-payment of child maintenance.
She was given her final rites by family members and friends at a funeral service at JE Guide Funeral Home and Crematorium, San Fernando, on Tuesday.
Cupid’s sister, Anastacia Knights, had told the Express that it was after her sister’s Cupid’s murder that a co-worker of her sister revealed that she (Cupid) was a victim of domestic violence and that she had been severely beaten several weeks ago.
