(Trinidad Guardian) A woman and a man have been detained for questioning in the grisly murder of businessman Christopher Hosein.
Hosein’s burnt body was discovered in his burnt vehicle in Ste Madeleine yesterday morning.
However, police believe that he was murdered elsewhere.
Hosein, 44, a former fire officer, operated his business, Experts Fire and Safety Limited, from his St James Street, Princes Town home.
He also worked at the Judiciary as a health and safety officer.
Hosein lived alone and was last seen alive at his home on Tuesday night. Police said around 6.30 am a farmer was on his way to his garden when he stumbled upon the burnt Kia Sorento along a dirt road off the Taskar Road in Ste Madeleine.
He contacted the police who found the partially burnt body with a rope around the neck and the hands bound.
Duct tape was over the mouth and eyes.
Police said Hosein knew the 23-year-old female suspect.
When the media went to Hosein’s home yesterday a woman came out but declined to be interviewed. Hosein’s business offered training and consultancy services for health and safety.
He had two daughters, one of whom recently wrote the Secondary Entrance Assessment examination.
Visiting the scene was a team from the Ste Madeleine CID and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3, including Snr Supt Gaffar, Supt Dhilpaul, ASP Theodore, and Insp Persad.
Fire officials were also on the scene.
