Rotary Club of Georgetown Central turns 37

Dear Editor,

The Rotary Club of Georgetown Central (RCGC) on Sunday, Novem-ber 01, 2020, celebrates 37 years since its establishment.

Chartered in 1983, the Club has been very vibrant as it engaged in voluntary service for almost four decades. It has since brought to fruition a wide range of projects and initiatives. These projects include charitable donations, which sought to offer relief to many across our dear land, especially those who are less fortunate.

A significant milestone bestowed upon the Club by Rotary Inter-national was the Citation Gold Award 2019-2020 for helping Rotary connect the world.

Additionally, RCGC continues to set its sights on more community development initiatives. Just recently, the Club donated a variety of outdoor exercise equipment to the National Park Commission as it seeks to promote healthy lifestyles; especially during the prevailing pandemic.

According to the Club President, William Andrew Boyle, despite the pandemic, the Club continues to do very well. He lauded the efforts of Rotarians within the Club as they continue to put “Service Above Self” in all of the Club’s undertakings.

Further, the Club’s President takes the opportunity to encourage Rotarians across Guyana to continue to foster the ideals of Rotary, particularly the exercise of goodwill and peace to all.

Moreover, the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central gives kudos to all businesses and organisations for their generous donations towards the projects and initiatives of the Club. Continued collaboration will allow the Club to touch the lives of many more people, one community at a time.

The Rotary Club of Georgetown sponsored the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central as part of that Club’s 25th Anniversary Celebra-tions; making the RCGC the second of seven Rotary Clubs to be formed in Guyana.

Yours faithfully,

Lloyd David
