Another COVID-19 death was recorded yesterday along with 69 new cases of the virus.
The Ministry of Health in a statement said that the new death increased the total number in the country to 131. The individual was identified as a 54-year-old man from Region Four who died while receiving care at a medical facility.
Meanwhile, 69 new coronavirus cases were recorded yesterday which increased the total number of confirmed positive cases in the country to 4,393. Of the new cases recorded, 52 were recorded in Region Four, 8 in Region Three, while two cases each were recorded in regions One, Two, Five and Six, with 1 new case recorded in Region Ten.
Eleven persons are patients at the country’s COVID-19 ICU while there are 841 active cases, 772 of which are in home isolation and 69 within institutional isolation. During the last round of testing, 352 persons were tested bringing the total amount of tested persons in the country to 21,091.
Guyana has also recorded 15 new recoveries making it a total of 3,409 persons to have recovered from COVID-19 in the country.
