The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday disclosed that an additional 88 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, with Region Six accounting for almost 40% of them.
According to the daily COVID-19 dashboard released by the MoH, Region Six has recorded 35 new cases, while Region One, Region Three and Region Eight have each recorded 5, Region Two has recorded 3, Region Four has recorded 14, Region Seven has recorded 15 and Region Ten has recorded 6. The positive cases were detected from 656 COVID-19 samples that were tested on Friday.
Meanwhile, the dashboard also showed that only 5 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 79 in institutional isolation, 848 in home isolation and 35 persons in institutional quarantine. The death toll remained at 143. Up to Friday, Guyana had recorded a total of 5,093 confirmed cases.
