With only 18 active novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases remaining in St. Cuthbert’s Mission, the Ministry of Health (MoH) believes that the recent outbreak in the community is under control and has decided against extending lockdown measures that are due to expire today.
However, according to MoH spokes-man Daniel Singh, a doctor and a nurse will remain to continue monitoring the community, including patients who have not yet recovered.
In addition, Singh said the Joint Services, which were deployed to the area more than a week ago to assist with enforcing lockdown measures, will remain in the community to assist the healthcare workers. He said the decision to not extend the lockdown was done after careful reassessment of the situation.
