Sports coordinator James Lewis has received support from Minister of Home Affairs Robeson Benn for the staging of an Inter Ministry and Government Agencies 7-a-side tapeball cricket competition on Sunday.
The competition will be played at the Durban Park Tarmac from 9:30hrs under strict COVID-19 guidelines.
Lewis disclosed that the Hon. Minister, last Friday, handed over trophies and medals for the staging of the event.
“The competition would be a four overs-per-side, knockout event. The winner will take home the Honorable Minister’s Trophy with medals and $75,000.00 cash and the runner-up team will get the Honorable Minister within the Prime Minister’s office, Minister Kwame McKoy’s Trophy and $40,000.00 in cash,” Lewis disclosed.
He added that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, and Office of the President are among some of the government agencies already on board.
