A man accused of escaping from the Camp Street prison during a riot was released on $100,000 bail on Monday.
Shawn Collins, 24, of Ketley and Drysdale streets, Charlestown, Georgetown, attended court on Monday when he pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleges that he escaped from the Camp Street Prison during a riot in 2017.
It is alleged that on July 9, 2017, at Camp Street, Georgetown, while being in lawful custody pending a criminal trial, Collins escaped from custody. He was granted $100,000 bail by Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus for the offence and ordered to report to the Alberttown Police Station on the first Friday of every month.
Collins was told to return to court on December 21.
