The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) is set to resume cricket action this weekend with the staging of an under-19 two-day trial match. The match is expected to aid in the selection of the Berbice Under-19 squad for the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-19 Inter-County tournament, tentatively set for early 2021.
According to a release from the county board, the match will see 37 players taking part in the event which runs from 10.00 hours to 16.30 hours at the Albion Community Centre Ground.
The 37 players were trimmed from over 50 players who turned out for two practice sessions last weekend at the venue watched by chairman of selectors, Balram Samaroo.
Due to the Covid-19 guidelines set out, players will be required to walk with face masks, water and sanitizers.
Among the players who will be on show are West Indies Under-15 duo, Rampertab Ramnauth and Isai Thorne while seasoned junior national players Jonathan Rampersaud, Nigel Deodat, Leon Swamy, Zeynul Ramsammy and Marvan Prashad are also expected to feature.
