Blairmont Community Centre Cricket Club of West Berbice successfully hosted its awards ceremony Thursday.
The event celebrated the success of the club for the 2018-2020 period and was hosted at Big B’s at Rosignol.
West Berbice franchise player, Kevon Jawahir, copped the Senior Player-of-the- Year award while Seon Glasgow walked away with Junior Player-of-the-Year award. Javed Karim, a former Nnder-19 national player, was adjudged the club’s best all-rounder while left-arm spinner, Nigel Deodat, was named the best bowler and second-division Player-of-the-Year.
In the individual format, Zameer Nazeer was named T20 player of the year. Nazeer also won the most improved batsman award which was shared with Marvan Prasad.
With the ball, Chris Harry copped the most improved bowler award while Glasgow and Prashad shared the Most Disciplined Player award.
Waqar Hussain was recognized for his services and commitment to the development of the club while Anthony Sukra was given a special award for his outstanding academic achievement.
Over in the junior division, the best Under-17 batsman and bowler awards went to Satyah France and Andy Tageraj respectively while Randy Rupnarine was named the best all-rounder and Altav Balman copped the Most Disciplined Player award.
In the Under-15 category, Ramzam Koobir was adjudged the Most Disciplined and Most Promising Cricketer while David Deonarine walked away with the Most Improved Cricketer award.
Raashad Gafoor was adjudged Best Batsman while Sajjaad Ishmael went home with the Best Bowler award. The best All-Rounder award went to Romeo Deonarain.
