Commander of Region Six Jairam Ramlakhan, yesterday stressed that the investigation into the recent robbery of Marcus Bisram will remain opened until the perpetrators are nabbed.
According to Ramlakhan, investigators have released all eight of the persons who were detained in connection with the robbery due to “insufficient evidence.” However, he stressed, that investigators were pursuing other leads and as a result they are hopeful that some arrests will be made soon.
Bisram, 31, of Number 70 Village, Corentyne, had told Stabroek News that he and a group of his relatives were sitting in his yard when four masked men entered on Sunday evening. He had said that three of the bandits were each armed with a firearm, while the fourth carried a machete.
