The police force is looking for the person/s who slashed a tyre on a Joint Services vehicle which responded to a report of a curfew-breaking party at Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara yesterday with more than 300 persons in attendance.
A release yesterday from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that ranks turned up at the event at 1.25 am yesterday at Back Street, Den Amstel acting on a noise nuisance report. Region Three commander, Senior Superintendent Errol Watts accompanied by a female assistant superintendent also responded to the report in motor vehicle PSS 4554 which he himself drove.
Upon arrival, a party was witnessed to be in progress. After observing for twenty minutes, the two officers were able to count approximately 350 persons in attendance. Assistance was sought from a Joint Services patrol and upon seeing the ranks, patrons were seen running away from the event.
The Joint Services vehicle PWW 5438 which responded was said to have been parked in the street where the party was held. The right rear tyre was later discovered slashed.
The area was searched for any possible suspects but no one was found.
The police, however, arrested three persons for breach of COVID-19 restrictions, all of whom belong to the same community the party was held in.
