COVID-19 cases in the town of Bartica, in Region Seven are continually rising as there are now about 17 more when compared to last week.
This was revealed by Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony during a COVID-19 update where he stated that authorities have seen a slight increase in cases there and they plan to continue monitoring the situation there.
“We had 62 cases last week but this has gone up now to about 79 cases, so we have to continue monitoring, we have to continue enforcing the guidelines up there”, the minister said.
He added that there are too many persons from the community who are traversing areas without masks and also persons who are not adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines in the town and that can lead to the continuous spread of the virus in the town.
Further he noted that Bartica is also situated in an area where workers from the mining community in the surrounding areas are transiting from their camps through Bartica.
