Nicholas Albert made a big splash on the local bodybuilding scene at the start of the year, winning the overall Novices championship trophy in Linden.

He is looking to end 2020 just the way he started it, hoisting the winner’s trophy.

In four days he will have his chance at the National Cultural Centre when the ‘Resilience’ Bodybuilding Championship is staged.

Since his signature win earlier in the year, Albert, a standout of the Unity Gym, has added some 15 pounds of  quality muscle to his 5 foot, 8 inches frame. However, on Saturday night he will have his work cut out competing against some of the seasoned musclemen who will also be flexing and posing for the win.

I have it on good authority though that the Novices champ has been handing out some serious butt kicking every time he steps into the gym and you can almost feel that level of focus and determination coming through from the training photos he often posts on his social media platforms.

The 170-pound mass of striated muscle said he has left no stone unturned.

“I always train and compete to win and on Saturday that is the goal,” he declared.

He is now competing amongst the ‘big boys’ of local bodybuilding and this time around, he is not pulling any punches. He is on the hunt again and I do not think he will be satisfied with anything less than lifting that winner’s trophy.

“I learnt a lot from my first show and I improved a lot with my conditioning, my overall physique and posing. No one competes to be second, so I am aiming to win.”

The virtual meet will be streamed live on all popular social media platforms.

The bodybuilding federation and the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sports, wishes to remind all Guyanese of the ‘resilience’ to withstand the testing of the times.

Hence the competition is to celebrate life, health, fitness and resilience as Guyanese whilst promoting healthy lifestyle and healthy living.

Reigning CAC gold medalist and five-time Mr. Guyana Champion, Kerwin Clarke, will take up the honours of guest posing for the night of the competition.

Prizes

The top three finishers of each segment will receive cash prizes of $100,000, $70,000 and $50,000.

The overall winner of the bodybuilding segments will receive $200,000.

All registered athletes are in full ‘peak week’ mode and the federation along with the filming and media crew are working hard to present to Guyana live bodybuilding and fitness competition of the highest level. Be sure to tune in, showtime is scheduled for 19:00hrs sharp.
