Two Lindeners were on Wednesday released on $40,000 bail each after they were charged with five counts of obtaining monies by false pretence.
Dwayne Charles, also known as ‘Uncle,’ a 41-year-old bus driver of Lot 555 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, and Claire Joseph, a 48-year-old accountant of 2467 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, made their appearance before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
The two are accused of obtaining $25,000 by false pretence from each of the complainants, Salome Henry, Vernon Richmond, Leslie Jervis, Odetta Hall and Gavin Munroe.
Charles and Joseph both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on $40,000 bail on one of the charges and self-bail on the four others.
They are to return to court on January 12th, 2021, when the matters will be called again.
