Manufacturers association hands out awards for outstanding performance

The Guyana Manufacturing and Service Association (GMSA) last week Wednesday awarded nine businesses and two individuals for their outstanding contributions to the manufacturing sector.
AGRO Services Inc’s representative receives the award for being an Emerging Entrepreneur with novel products of consistently high quality.
A representative of Bulkan Timber Works (left) receives the award from Sophie Makonnen, IDB Country Representative for the company’s pioneering in adding a wide range of quantity, value-added wood products to the local market.
The Managing Director of Fibre Tech Industrial Plastics (left) accepts her award from Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill in recognition of the company’s pioneering efforts in utilizing innovative and environmentally friendly technologies for agro processing.

The awards were presented at the GMSA annual awards ceremony held at State House.
Additionally, special awards were also given to the heads of the American, British, Canadian, and European Union missions here for their contribution towards the preservation of democratic principles in Guyana during the aftermath of the March 2nd General and Regional elections.
