Virtual bodybuilding event will underline resilience

With just a day to go, it is almost showtime for the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s virtual year end event dubbed ‘Resilience’.

Bodybuilders, bikini and physique athletes are just hours away from peaking and dialing in their bodies through weeks of dieting and sweat drenched workouts to present an award winning package at the National Cultural Centre.

The fitness community, local gyms, barbershops and even salons have been buzzing with anticipation of the much hyped event. Some of the nation’s best physiques will turn the stage into their battleground.

 According to the organizers, in excess of 30 athletes will be vying for supremacy.

Reigning Mr. Guyana, Marlon Bennett, Ms. Bikini, Roseanna Fung and StrongMan Champion, Carlos Petterson-Griffith among others will be posing and flexing under the bright lights of the venue.

Aesthetics, symmetry, muscularity, confidence and of course brightly coloured board shorts will be present.

The virtual meet will be streamed live on all popular social media platforms.

The bodybuilding federation and the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport wishes to remind all Guyanese of the ‘resilience’ to withstand the testing of the times. 

Hence the competition is to celebrate life, health, fitness and resilience as Guyanese whilst promoting healthy lifestyle and healthy living.

Reigning CAC Gold Medalist, and five-time Mr. Guyana Champion and one of Guyana’s elite athletes, Kerwin Clarke will take up the honours of guest posing for the night of the competition.

Prizes 

The top three finishers of each segment will receive cash prizes of $100,000, $70,000 and $50,000.

The overall winner of the Bodybuilding segments will receive $200,000.

All registered athletes are in full preparatory mode and the federation along with the filming and media crew are working hard to present to Guyana live bodybuilding and fitness competition of the highest level. Be sure to tune in, showtime is scheduled for 19:00 hrs sharp.
