Dear Editor,
I hereby propose the following for consideration by the people tasked with reforming the Constitution:
To avoid the perception that the military is a dominant factor in government, that government is indisputably civilian and definably democratic, and that the military is subjugated to the government, and not the other way round, the number of military personnel should be limited in government. And, no government should have a president as head of the armed forces and a former military person as prime minister at any concurrent period of time. Furthermore, any military personnel in government will have been totally detached from the military for a specified number of years.
Yours faithfully,
G. Sukhdeo
