Transport Sports Club (TSC) all-rounder, Alvin Mohabir, was once again the architect of Georgetown’s dominance in the ongoing Demerara Inter-Association Under – 19 50-overs tournament, after he snatched a five-for to lead his side past East Coast by five wickets at the Enmore Community Center Ground yesterday.
East Coast, after winning the toss and electing to bat in the rain-affected contest, were skittled out for 65 inside 27 overs. Only Romel Datterdeen (14) reached double figures as Mohabir, who made an unbeaten 75 in the opening round of the tournament, captured 5-7 to set up the victory. He was ably supported by speedster Bryion Bowen (2-16) and skipper, Dwain Dick (1-8).
Georgetown, in response, made light work of the chase, reaching 67-1 in the 18th over with Jaden Campbell (36) and wicket-keeper/batsman, Shamar Yearwood (26) being unbeaten at the end to steer their side home. Brandon Jaikaran (3) was the lone wicket to fall.
